The goal of The Biblical Thinker Blog is to directly interact and refute the ideologies of non-belief. This will
include heretical sects and groups as well as atheistic philosophies. All participants must be skilled in the
presuppositional methods of apologetics. Eventually we seek to establish a one year certificate course
(hosted at The Christian Thinker) that will allow us to obtain more contributors to the blog- as well as train a
generation of skilled apologists to effect the culture. It will be a kind of Apologetics Academy.
Continue to pray with us (even if you are not seeking contribution) that God might gather together the
apologists of our time to compose a solid theological statement on apologetics (Theological Apologia);
rejecting the evidential methods of reasoning (which are in accordance with the natural man) and affirming
the Biblical validity of the presuppositional methods. However, at present we need theological thinkers who
are willing to refute the irrationalism of our time.
Because non-belief grows more militant every day we cannot afford to simply extend the hand of
contribution to any person with a desire. We can only afford to post the most skilled apologist of our day.
And this does not mean big names- it means sound methods. If you are familiar (as well as capable) with
the works and methods of Gordon Clark, Van til, Greg Bahnsen, and Vincent Cheung, then we extend an
invitation for your application.
This blog is not the place to "test" out apologetics it is the place to use apologetics. Those still in training
(and to be fair we all are to a certain degree) should not apply for contribution. There is a difference
between those who are suckling apologetical milk and those who are eating meat- we want carnivores not
babes (Heb 5:12-14).
The blog will not be published weekly, unless of course we can obtain the contributors, it will however, be
published monthly- or as often as contributors provide the material.
Also important to note, is that no contributor will be "required" to write for the blog on deadline- each writing
will be posted as the contributor can write it. Sure, we might ask, but there is no obligation. This task is
simply too big for one person. Even being able to "communicate" with other contributors will help us to
maintain the integrity of our position.
And even though we adhere to strict standards of theological thought, one does not have to be a literary
scholar to join, but one must have solid apologetical methodology-as well as a firm grasp on Reformed
theology. We are not necessarily after "good writers" as much as we are after "good thinkers".
Please keep in mind that submissions (provided one is a contributor) will not automatically imply posting.
The reason for this is because if one's article can be picked apart by other Christians then there is a
possibility it could be picked apart by non-believers. However, this might not always be the case, there
might be circumstances were contributors disagree over method, this will not automatically imply a
rejection- nor will it imply the possibility of legitimate atheistic refutation. Those who are contributors are so
in order to contribute not to get rejected. We want you to post, and as such explain that, all rejection is done
on the basis of frail or weak apologetics and methods. If the methodology does not stand then we will not
post.
Our vision is simple: maintain strict Biblical standards that will ensure the longevity, quality and theological
force of the blog. When standards are compromised quality is compromised and when quality is
compromised the entire vision is altered. None of this is personal. Again, we are not after grammatical
masterpieces we are after masterful thought. If you are not the best writer, but you are a good thinker then
we extend an application to consider your contribution.
Contributions will not be rejected simply because of imperfect writing or imperfect grammar. As Biblical
apologists our emphasis is on theological content- which is also logical content. We are all flawed and we
all make mistakes- hence, we are not seeking perfect contributors, but passionate, theologically informed
contributors. There is no such thing as a perfect blog and if there was The Christian Thinker would not be
invited.
Also, this application period will only last until we have accumulated enough solid contributors to handle the
volume of the blog. This does not mean that we will not take more contributors in the future.
Finally, be sure to pray about it and think it over, don't simply make a choice in haste. If it turns out the way
we believe it will, then it will start a large fire, as well as a major resurgence (beyond the one already taking
place) in apologetics.
Those who have seriously considered their place of contribution and want to be added to The Biblical
Thinker must send an email, with name, denomination (or theological persuasion), title (as in education,
BA, MA or Doctor, Pastor or Author- none of which are required!). Please also inform us of any apologetic
experience (this could be as little as an email dialog all the way up to professional debate).
